Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “-WINCHESTER MODEL 70 270 WIN ONLY- / -WINCHESTER IS A REGISTERED TRADEMARK OF OLIN CORPORATION-”. The top of the barrel is marked with an ovalled “WP” proof. The left side of the receiver is marked “WINCHESTER ® / -MADE IN U.S.A.-”. The right side of the receiver at the chamber is marked “35CZY09488”. The floorplate is marked, “SUPER GRADE”. The right side of the barrel is marked, “MODEL 70 SUPER GRADE MADE IN U.S.A. BACO INC., MORGAN, UTAH”. The buttpad is marked, “Decelerator”.
Barrel Length: 24” round.
Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver is installed with a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20×50 UMC Riflescope with Duplex Crosshair Reticle. The scope is installed via two Talley Rings and bases. The sight picture is clear. The scope rates in Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with a capped pistol grip, straight comb with shadowline style cheek piece, black rubber Decelerator buttpad, and Super Grade sling platelets front and rear. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips, cracks, or nicks. The LOP measures 13 ¾” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad has no visible wear. Overall, the stock is in Excellent condition. The Bolt is a Control Round Feed Bolt which is a Pre ‘64 style bolt.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10. The consignor states that less than 45 rounds have been fired by this rifle.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. This rifle is in near pristine condition. The bluing is gorgeous and free of any visible wear or thinning. There is no notable operation or handling wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This rifle employs a control feed bolt. The safety is mounted at the back of the bolt on the right side. It has three positions. Pushed all the way forwards, the safety is off and ready to fire. In the middle position, the safety blocks the trigger, but allows the bolt to be opened for loading and unloading. In the rear position, the safety blocks the trigger and the bolt. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
