Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is mounted with a two-piece stainless Leupold scope mount, with 1″ stainless rings for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut stock, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, black Decelerator rubber buttpad, schnabel tipped forend, and sling studs front and rear. The stock shows no notable wear. The checkering is well defined. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear. The stainless finish is intact throughout, and the jeweling on the bolt is bright and vivid. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its original serial number matching box, owner’s manual, cable lock, and the scope base/rings as mentioned above.
Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 70 Stainless Featherweight is a modern continuation of one of the most respected sporting rifle lines ever produced, combining the classic Model 70 controlled-round-feed action with contemporary materials and manufacturing. By 2010, production under BACO in Morgan, Utah had refined the stainless Featherweight into a highly dependable, well-balanced hunting rifle that preserved the handling characteristics of the original Featherweights while adding corrosion resistance and modern consistency. The result is a rifle that feels traditional in the hands but performs to modern expectations in the field.
Chambered in 7mm-08 Remington, this rifle is exceptionally well matched to its Featherweight configuration. The 7mm-08 is widely appreciated for its efficiency, mild recoil, and excellent ballistic performance, delivering flat trajectories and strong terminal results on deer-sized game and beyond without the blast or recoil of larger magnums. In a 22-inch barrel, the cartridge reaches its full potential while maintaining excellent balance and portability, making this combination ideal for long days in the mountains, timber hunting, or spot-and-stalk work where quick handling and shootability matter.
The condition of this example is outstanding. The stainless metal retains virtually all of its original finish, the bore is excellent, and the bolt jeweling remains bright and crisp. The walnut stock is clean, well-fitted, and shows no notable wear, reinforcing the impression that this rifle has seen careful ownership. The inclusion of the original box, paperwork, and stainless Leupold bases and rings adds further appeal for collectors and shooters alike. This is a textbook example of a late-production Model 70 Featherweight that balances practicality, refinement, and enduring Winchester heritage.
