Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER Model 1892 — Caliber 357 Mag ONLY”. The top of the chamber and top of the receiver both have an ovalled “WP” proof. The right of the barrel marked “Made by Miroku – Japan — Imported by BACO, Inc. – Morgan, Utah / Winchester is a registered trademark of Olin Corporation”. The top tang is marked “WINCHESTER / MODEL 1892”. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 16″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded serrated blade dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a square notch semi-buckhorn leaf and elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are deluxe 2-piece checkered walnut with capped forend, semi pistol grip, straight comb, and steel crescent buttplate. The LOP measures 12 7/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There is only minor handling wear but no notable damage. Overall, the stocks are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. It does not appear this rifle was fired past the factory testfire. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout with no notable handling or operational wear. There are a couple minor scratches on the right side of the receiver. The screwheads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: This Winchester Model 1892 Deluxe Takedown is a modern, high-grade interpretation of John Browning’s iconic compact lever-action design, produced by Miroku in 2023. The Model 1892 has long been celebrated for its strength, smoothness, and trim handling qualities, originally engineered around pistol-length cartridges and favored for its fast cycling and balance. In this contemporary takedown configuration, Winchester revisits that heritage with modern manufacturing precision while preserving the classic proportions and mechanical character that define the Model 1892 lineage from Winchester Repeating Arms.
Chambered in .357 Magnum and fitted with a 16 inch barrel, this rifle offers a compact, lively profile well suited to the Model 1892 action. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion present, and it does not appear to have been fired beyond factory test firing, earning a 10 out of 10 bore rating. Approximately 99 percent of the original metal finish remains, with deep, even bluing and vivid color case hardening throughout. Aside from a couple of very minor scratches on the right side of the receiver, the metal surfaces show no notable handling or operational wear, with sharp screw heads and crisp, legible markings.
The deluxe walnut stocks feature fine checkering, a capped forend, semi-pistol grip, straight comb, and a steel crescent buttplate, all executed in keeping with traditional Winchester deluxe trim. Only minimal handling wear is present, and the wood rates Excellent overall with no chips or cracks observed. The takedown system is cleanly fitted, and mechanically the action functions correctly with the smooth, precise feel expected of modern Miroku manufacture. Accompanied by its factory box and paperwork, this rifle stands as an exceptionally well-preserved example of Winchester’s current-production Model 1892, combining classic aesthetics, modern reliability, and outstanding overall condition.
