Our Assessment: This Winchester Model 71 Deluxe, made by Miroku in 2012, is a faithful modern reproduction of the original Model 71 introduced by Winchester in 1935. Designed as a streamlined evolution of the Model 1886, the 71 was built around the powerful .348 Winchester cartridge, intended for serious North American big game hunting—especially in timber country where hard-hitting, fast-follow-up shots were key. Though discontinued in 1958, the rifle earned a strong cult following among hunters and collectors alike.

This modern Miroku-made Deluxe version captures the spirit and quality of the originals with modern manufacturing precision. It features the correct 24” barrel, deluxe walnut stock with semi-pistol grip, and a checkered steel buttplate. The rifle is in Excellent condition overall, with a mirror-bright bore, minimal wear, and a tight, positive action. For those looking to experience the Model 71’s legacy—whether as a woods gun, a collector’s piece, or simply for the enjoyment of vintage-style shooting—this rifle delivers. The .348 Win is a powerhouse cartridge, and rifles like this one are becoming increasingly scarce in such fine condition. Please see our photos and good luck on your bid! – L.S.
