Bore Condition: The bore is gray and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is a little stubborn fouling about mid-way down. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 8 or 9 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are a few minor marks on the left of the frame between the cylinder and barrel. Otherwise, there are only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks with barely perceptible play on each chamber. The trigger is crisp. We have not fired this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: This is a special edition 3rd Generation Single Action Army revolver produced in 1984, originally in collaboration with Winchester. The original idea was to have a matched pair of a Winchester 94 and a Colt SAA, two of the most iconic firearms of the American West, both chambered for the .44-40 cartridge. In 1986, the Winchester/Colt Single Action Army could be purchased separately from the rifle. This appears to be one of these separate revolvers, in Excellent condition with little sign of use. This will make for a great addition to any collection and a beautiful piece to have on display. Please see our photos and good luck!
