Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 94AE CAL. 30-30 Win. / -MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. – WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-”. The top of the barrel bears the Winchester proof mark. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number. The right side of the barrel is marked “HOPALONG CASSIDY TRIBUTE”, the top is marked “AHL © MECHANICSVILLE VA.”, the right side is marked “130 of FIVE HUNDRED”. The left side of the receiver is marked “TOPPER”, “HOPALONG”, and “CASSIDY” on banners, a horse’s head on a plaque, and a saddle marked “H / C”. The right side of the receiver is marked “BAR-20”, “WILLIAM BOYD”, “5 JUNE 1895 – 12 SEPT. 1972”, and William Boyd’s portrait on a plaque. Both sides of the receiver and lever have decorative floral engraving. The bottom of the receiver is marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 20″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded beaded blade atop a serrated riser that is screwed to the top of the barrel. The rear sight is a U-notch elevator sight with a white triangle aim guide that is dovetailed to the barrel. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped in four places for mounting an optic (not included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are smooth walnut with a banded forearm, straight grip, straight comb, and a checkered black Winchester buttplate. The wood shows no notable wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the checkered hard rubber Winchester plate, which shows no notable wear. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some light tarnish on the bottom of the receiver. There are light handling marks throughout. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes in a serial matching box with paperwork including a manual.
Our Assessment: This is a beautiful Hopalong Cassidy Tribute Model 94AE from Winchester. As described on the America Remembers website, “ The right side of the receiver features a detailed portrait of William Boyd in nickel and blue, framed in a 24-karat gold shield. The name William Boyd is etched permanently in gold, and a banner with his dates of birth and death are featured. Hoppy called the Bar 20 Ranch home, so you will also find “Bar-20” on the receiver. Left side of the receiver features “Topper,” Hoppy’s faithful horse. Note the detail on the image of Topper. A saddle with the “HC” initials and a banner reading “Hopalong Cassidy” are highlighted in gold, nickel, and blueing. The large loop lever is decorated in nickel and blued and features the well-known trademark of Hopalong Cassidy – the steer head from his bolo tie. The Hopalong Cassidy Tribute Rifle features the large loop lever. The barrel is blued and features the name of the Tribute in gold.
