Markings: The left shoulder of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER MODEL 94 38-55 WIN. / MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL”. The right shoulder of the barrel is marked “Oliver F. Winchester” in cursive script. The upper tang is marked “MODEL 1894 / WINCHESTER”. The bottom of the receiver at the front is marked with the serial number. Both sides of the receiver have decorative scroll engraving. The right side shows a man shooting a rifle and is marked “WRA”. The left side shows the Winchester factory.
Barrel Length: 24” Octagonal
Sights / Optics: The front sight is blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a fine-adjustable U-notch with an elevator piece that is dovetailed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered wood with a capped forearm, straight grip and comb, and a blued steel buttplate. The right side of the buttstock contains an inlaid medallion of Oliver F. Winchester. The wood shows no perceptible imperfections and the checkering is sharp. The LOP measures 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light storage and handling marks. There is light wear to the lever, likely from only cycling the action. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its original box with a manual included and two 20-round Oliver F. Winchester Commemorative boxes of .38-55 ammunition.
Our Assessment: Oliver Fisher Winchester (November 30, 1810 – December 10, 1880) was an American businessman and politician, best known as being the founder of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. This is a beautiful Model 1894 commemorating him of which a limited production of 19,999 units was issued in 1980. This rifle rates in about Excellent condition with 99% finish remaining.
