Our Assessment: The Winchester Model 1885 was John Browning’s first design for Winchester, and it remains one of the most durable and accurate single-shot rifles ever produced. The falling block design is as simple as it is strong, and its legacy has endured for well over a century.
This 125th Anniversary edition pays tribute to that legacy with high-end appointments including an octagon barrel with gold-enhanced markings, a scroll-engraved steel receiver, and high-grade walnut with a finely cut checkered finish. The low serial number, 00070ZM85C, makes it an even more desirable collector’s piece.
With 99% finish retained and only minimal signs of handling, this rifle is in Excellent condition and clearly well cared for. It would be a proud addition to any collection, especially for those who appreciate the heritage of Winchester’s most enduring single-shot design. Whether kept as a show piece or brought to the range for precision shooting, this High Wall is both a piece of history and a functional work of art. Please see our High Qaulity photos and good luck on your bids.-C.M.
