Our Assessment: Based on The Gun That Won The West, the 1873, by far Winchester’s most successful run of repeating rifles, the 1876 was created for the purpose of Big Game Hunting. Chambered in more powerful cartridges with a heavier frame, the 1876 would prove to be a favorite rifle in the hands of none other than Teddy Roosevelt in his early expeditions. Please see our photos, specs below, and good luck! C.M.
