Our Assessment: This 1965 West German Walther PPK in 9mm Kurz represents a classic Cold War–era example of one of the most recognizable European service and police pistols of the twentieth century. Produced in Ulm/Do during the postwar reestablishment of Walther manufacturing, the PPK retained its compact blowback-operated design, double-action/single-action trigger system, and combined safety/decocker that made it influential in later service pistol development. The Walther banner and “Made in West-Germany” markings firmly place this pistol in the period of divided Germany, when the PPK was widely issued to police agencies and favored as a discreet defensive sidearm.
This example presents in excellent overall condition, retaining nearly all of its original blued finish with only light handling wear and minor edge thinning near the muzzle. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion observed, and the mechanical function is correct with a clean single-action break. The polymer grips remain crisp with sharp checkering and no structural damage. Accompanied by two magazines, a cleaning tool, original paperwork, and a Walther box, this 1965 PPK stands as a well-preserved and complete West German example of an iconic mid-century defensive pistol.
