Sights / Optics: The sights are 2 DOT Iron Sights. The front sight is a white dot blade dovetailed into the slide and the rear rectangular notch sight is dovetailed to the rear of the slide with a white aiming reference below the notch.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two piece Sig textured plastic grips set screw set to the frame. The grips are in Like New condition showing no notable signs of wear or use.
Magazine Quantity and Condition: This pistol includes two 13 round magazines. One magazine is still sealed in the bag the other is in Like New condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. The fee ramp is smooth and shiny. This pistol appears unfired outside of factory testing. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: Like New in Box condition showing only minor discoloration from being stored in the original oil for this long. I was able to remove most of the old oil and discoloration from the exterior just from wiping with a cloth. It is this writer’s opinion that the rest should be able to be removed with a proper cleaning.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol includes a serialized box with foam, manual, test target, and two magazines.
Our Assessment: This Sig P228, made in West Germany in 1994, is a compact double-action/single-action semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9mm. It features the classic alloy frame with a stamped carbon steel slide and is paired with standard SIG sights consisting of a white dot front and a white post rear. This model is designed to accept 13-round magazines and was widely favored by military, law enforcement, and civilian users for its balance of size, capacity, and handling.
This particular example is in Like New condition, showing virtually no signs of use or wear, making it a rare and highly desirable piece for collectors. As a late West German–marked production gun, it represents the final years of SIG’s German manufacturing before production shifted. Its condition, provenance, and period-correct features make it a standout time capsule from the golden era of SIG Sauer craftsmanship.
