There is a neoprene/nylon sling attached to the stock. The stock shows light to moderate wear, with scratches and dings throughout, as well as chipping of the finish around the pistol grip and forend. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action with no play. There are no structurally compromising chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 97% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with a few scattered light scratches throughout the barrel, and the receiver. The action shows some operational wear on the bolt, and on the other friction surfaces of the action. There is one ding on the bolt handle as well. Otherwise, the bluing on the receiver, and the stainless finish on the barrel are intact throughout. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this pistol rates in Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a light, crisp, and clean break. We did not fire this pistol, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with the scope and the sling as mentioned above.

Our Assessment: Weatherby’s Mark V CFP emerged during a period when handgun hunters and specialty-pistol silhouette shooters were actively pushing the limits of bolt-action handgun performance. Built on the Mark V action and configured as a Compact Firing Platform, the design allowed rifle-level accuracy and chamber pressures to be applied in a highly maneuverable handgun format. Though produced in relatively limited numbers, the CFP quickly developed a dedicated following for its precision machining, distinctive ergonomics, and Weatherby’s trademark smooth cycling.

Chambered in .22-250 Remington, this pistol represents one of the most inherently accurate and velocity-efficient small-bore cartridges ever introduced to the American market. Since its commercial debut in the 1960s, the .22-250 has maintained a reputation for flat trajectory and blistering velocity, making it a favorite for varmint and predator shooting where shot placement at extended ranges is paramount. In a specialty pistol platform, its performance provides a unique shooting experience that blends rifle-class external ballistics with compact handling.

This example remains in very nice condition overall, with excellent bore quality, a clean action, and modest cosmetic wear. The stainless fluted barrel and blued receiver maintain strong visual contrast, and the fitted Burris 3-12x handgun optic makes this a fully functional long-range pistol setup. For collectors of specialty bolt-action handguns or shooters interested in the unique capabilities of precision pistol hunting platforms, this Mark V CFP will stand out as a rare and capable example.
