Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “12 GA – 2 ¾” / SOUTH GATE, CALIF MADE IN JAPAN”, the right side is marked “Weatherby ORION”. The bottom of the bottom barrel is marked “W / 020C / E006121 / NP”. The left side of the bottom chamber is marked “E / 833” and the right side is marked “CC”. The top tang is marked “2”. The forend metal and the bottom of the frame are marked “E006121”. The sides, top, and bottom of the frame have scroll engraving. There are decorative engravings on the screws and on the forend iron screw mounts. The forend release lever has a wavy line of engraving. The top of the barrel release has pinstriping engraving. The sides of the monoblock and sides and bottom of the base of the forend iron have light flourish engraving

Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted with a white bead at the front of the rib and has a smaller bright alignment bead at the midsection. The rib has serrations and checkering for glare reduction.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered wood with a capped pistol grip, finger groove forend, fluted monte carlo comb, and a black vent rubber Weatherby buttpad. The pistol grip cap has a white diamond inlay and a white spacer. The stocks show some draglines, light compressions, and a few dings through the finish. The most noticeable defects are on the bottom and left side of the forend at the rear. The finish has some crazing to the sides of the bottom tang. The checkering is strong. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 14 ¼” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. The pad has some light wear but is supple. The black spacer is slightly proud at the toe. The drop at comb is approximately 1 ?”, at the end of the raised portion of the comb is 1 ?” and at the heel 2”. The cast is slightly off. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bores are bright. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The barrels have a few light marks, a few have lightly gone through the finish, most noticeable on the left side of the top chamber. There are a few freckles of surface oxidation on the left sides of the barrels in about the first 2” from the muzzle. The left sides of the barrel have some discoloration likely from oil about 6” from the muzzle. There is standard operational wear. The markings are clear. The screwheads show light use with strong slots. Overall, this gun rates in about Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including the ejectors. The action locks up tight with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
