Markings: The left side of the shank is marked “USE ONLY / WEATHERBY / .300W.M.”. The right side of the chamber ring is marked with the serial number “OL-0466”. The left side of the receiver is marked “MARK V / U.S. PATENT NO.3,013,355”, “Weatherby / SOUTH GATE CALIF . MADE IN JAPAN”, and has three pin motifs at the rear. The bottom of the bolt handle is marked “466”. The floorplate is marked “XXIIIrd OLYMPIAD-1984” on a banner surrounded by floral engraving. The right side of the buttstock has an Olympic Committee inlay that reads “LICENSED COMMEMORATIVE RIFLE / OF THE 1984 OLYMPIC GAMES / 1 OF 1000”. The scope rings are also engraved.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. Equipped to the top of the receiver via a two-piece Redfield rail system and two rings is a Leupold Vari-X III optic with 3.5-10x magnification and a duplex reticle. The external surface shows very little wear and the lenses are a touch cloudy but retain a high level of visibility. The scope rates in about Very Good condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is one piece checkered walnut with a high gloss finish, a raised Monte Carlo comb, a capped pistol grip and cheekpiece. There is a brown rubber ventilated Weatherby recoil pad mounted on the butt with a black and white spacer. There is a rosewood grip cap with tan spacer and a tan diamond shaped piece of wood inlet into its bottom surface. There is also a rosewood nose cap with a tan spacer. There are sling swivels in the belly and on the forend. There are some light marks on the buttstock and two spots of finish loss along the edge of the cheek piece. The checkering is nice and sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/4” and 12 1/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad and wood, respectively. The pad shows light wear and remains pliable. The stock is in Fine-Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and deep. There is no erosion in the bore. There is an M.E. of 1.0.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is thinning at the muzzle. There are some scattered hardly notable marks. There is hardly any operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is light and crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The previously mentioned scope and a brown leather sling are included. This rifle comes in a blues leather case with a protective soft red interior.
Our Assessment: This is a beautiful Mark V 1984 Olympic Games Commemorative that was manufactured in Japan, marked as 1 out of 1,000. The floorplate is engraved with foliate patterns and a ribbon bearing the legend “XXIII rd Olympiad-1984”. The right side of the buttstock is inlaid with a 3-1/4” gold-colored plaque stating that this is a licensed commemorative rifle of the 1984 Olympic Games, that it is 1 of 1,000 and it is licensed by the 1980 L.A. Olympic Committee. This rifle has an excellent bore and a clean, light trigger. This thing is drop dead sexy! Please see our photos and good luck!
