Markings: The left of the receiver is marked “17-00830” with a Volquartsen logo and “Volquartsen”, the right is marked “Carroll, IA”. The left-rear of one barrel has a Volquartsen logo and “17 HMR”. The bottom of the trigger guard is marked “VC”.

Sights / Optics: There is no provision for iron sights. The top of the receiver has an integral rail.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The Boyds stock is light brown smooth laminate wood with a pistol grip, monte carlo comb, cheekpiece, and a Boyds black rubber buttpad. There are a couple faint scuffs and minor compressions. There are some scattered light marks from handling and storage. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the pad. The pad shows minor wear. Overall, the stocks are in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is standard wear on the integral rail from previously installed accessories. There are scattered light handling marks. There is light operational wear. The screw heads are undamaged. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is a cross-bolt safety at the front of the trigger guard with Ruger 10/22-style magazine release and bolt stop. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching box and a pair of Ruger 9-round rotary magazines.
Our Assessment: Since 1974, Volquartsen has been known for producing some of the highest quality, most reliable and most accurate semi-automatic rimfire rifles in the world. Their guns, parts and other products can be seen just about anywhere that rimfire firearms are used in competition. The Deluxe combines their immense manufacturing quality with performance, and not to mention it looks damn good too! This example has a magnum receiver, able to accept either the installed .17 HMR barrels, or a .22 WMR barrel, which conveniently also use the same magazine. The .17 HMR is one of the most powerful and flattest shooting rimfire cartridges around, suitable for target shooting as well as for varmints. This rifle comes with its original box and two magazines, it appears to have seen little, if any use and has been responsibly maintained.
