Barrel Length: 32” “Light” Octagon Barrel. The rifle weighs 11lbs 6oz.
Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a globe front sight with simple post insert dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flip up ladder sight with markings from 1-8. When the sight is folded down it is a semi-buckhorn sight with U notch dovetailed to the barrel. Mounted to the tang is a Shaver Soule sight with long range staff and Hadley style multi aperture eye disc.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set is a two piece checkered walnut. The stock is a semi-pistol grip, straight comb and has a smooth blued metal butt plate. The forend is a checkered Hartford tipped forend. The LOP measures 14″ from the front trigger to the back of the butt plate. The wood shows minor scattered compressions and very light surface level lines. There are no cracks. There is a very small chip in the toe of the heel. The comb shows a few small marks from the tang sight. The butt plate shows a few very minor surface level lines. Overall the wood is in Very Good+ condition.
Type of Finish: The barrel is blued and the receiver, lever and hammer are color case hardened.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. The crown is clean showing no fouling. There are some very minor lines on the feed tray. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.75/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel shows scattered very minor marks. The lower tang shows the rub mark from the lever. The screw heads are undamaged and sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good+-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: This rifle has double set triggers, which function correctly. The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
