Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is an adjustable square notch fixed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The one-piece half-stock is smooth wood with a brass forend cap/ramrod, straight grip, straight comb with cheek piece, patch box, and brass buttplate. There are scratches and pressure dents throughout. There are no chips or cracks.The LOP measures approximately 14.5” from the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates at about Very Good + overall condition.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The case color is mostly vibrant and the brass shows moderate tarnishing.There are light scratches and small nicks throughout. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Thompson Center Arms Hawken is a beautifully executed flintlock .45 caliber muzzleloader, built in the modern era to evoke the classic plains rifles of the early 19th century. The Hawken-style rifle was famously used by trappers and frontiersmen during the westward expansion of the American frontier, and T/C’s interpretation has become one of the most respected and reliable traditional muzzleloaders in modern black powder shooting. While most T/C Hawkens were percussion models, this flintlock version is significantly more desirable and less commonly encountered, especially in this condition. This rifle features a 29” octagonal barrel, brass furniture, and a hardwood half-stock with a cheek piece and patch box—all consistent with Hawken styling. The metal retains about 97% of its original finish, with only minor handling wear. The case coloring remains vibrant, and the brass has taken on moderate tarnish appropriate for a well-cared-for muzzleloader. The bore is exceptionally clean, bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating an impressive 9.75/10. The stock is solid and clean, with only typical handling marks and no cracks or chips, rating Very Good+. Mechanically, the flintlock ignition system functions correctly, making it fully capable for use at the range or in the field. The rifle includes its ramrod, and the sights are appropriate for traditional muzzleloader use, with a beaded front and adjustable square notch rear.
