Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “454 CASULL / RAGING BULL”. The right side of the barrel is marked “TAURUS”. The crane cut is marked “0140 / 454” and the crane is marked “0140”. The sideplate is marked with the TAURUS logo and “TAURUS INT.MFG. / MIAMI, FL.-USA”. The right side of the frame, below the cylinder, is marked with the serial number “RF654340 / MADE IN BRAZIL”.
Barrel Length: 8 3/8”, Ported, Vent-Rib
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade that is pinned to a raised base integral to the rib, over the ports. The rear sight is a flat top square notched leaf in a base that is pinned to the topstrap, micrometer-click adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is soft black rubber with a pebble texture and features a red rubber strip along the back of its grip. There are Taurus medallions at the bottom of the left and right side of the grip. The grip has light handling wear with some discoloration in the red portion. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grip is in Fine condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The balance is mostly in scattered scuffing and light scratches on the sides of the barrel. There are a few other scattered light marks. The action shows light operational wear including a thin turn-line on the cylinder. THe screw heads range from sharp to tool marked with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in Very Good-plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup produces no side-to-side play on each chamber with the trigger depressed. The double-action trigger is smooth. The single-action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes in a black cardboard Taurus box with serial-matching label.
Our Assessment: The Raging Bull 454 was introduced in 1998 using the .454 Casull cartridge, which was originally developed as a wildcat cartridge and has a velocity of 1900 feet per second with a 240 grain bullet. The cartridge has since become a popular round with handgun hunters and recoil junkies, with commercial ammunition available. Because of the power of the cartridge, Taurus has fitted the gun with a one piece soft black rubber with a pebble texture and features a red rubber strip along the back of its grip, to cushion the shooter’s hand and lower the perceived recoil. This gun is in Very Good-plus condition, showing signs of responsible use. With the 8 3/8” barrel and rear adjustable sights, this would make a great handgun for an avid hunter.
