Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ringed post, with a flip-up post with a white dot. The rear sight is an adjustable diopter sight. 

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a one-piece black serrated plastic. The grip shows no notable signs of wear. The forend/handguard is a two-piece black plastic, with serrations for grip control. The handguard shows no notable signs of wear.  Overall, the grip & handguard are in Excellent condition. 

Magazine Quantity Condition: This pistol includes its one factory 30rd magazine, the magazine is in Excellent condition. 

Type of Finish: Black Nitride

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. The pistol appears to be unfired. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10. 

Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 99%+ of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable wear. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear and legible. Overall, this pistol rates in Excellent condition. 

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety and the trigger. We did not fire this pistol, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a black plastic hard case, owner’s manual/paperwork, camo nylon sling, a yellow chamber flag, cable lock, and the one 30rd magazine as mentioned above. 

Our Assessment: The Swiss-made Sig Sauer SG 553 P is the semi-automatic pistol variant of the legendary SG 550 series, renowned for its exceptional build quality, reliability, and accuracy. The SG 553 retains the robust long-stroke gas piston system of its predecessors but in a more compact, short-barreled configuration ideal for close-quarters use or as a base for an SBR conversion where legally permissible. Swiss-made SIG rifles and pistols are highly sought after for their precise machining, smooth operation, and excellent ergonomics.

This example, chambered in 5.56 NATO, features an 8.9″ barrel, adjustable diopter rear sight, protected front sight with a flip-up white dot post, and the correct factory furniture. It appears to be unfired, with a pristine bore rating 10/10 and no visible wear to its 99%+ black nitride finish. All controls function properly, and the included 30-round factory magazine is likewise in excellent condition.
