Our Assessment: The Swiss Model 1906/29 Luger represents one of the finest evolutions of Georg Luger’s iconic toggle-action pistol. Produced by Waffenfabrik Bern between 1933 and 1946, these pistols were designed to meet the rigorous standards of the Swiss military and are widely considered to be the highest quality Lugers ever made. The robust design, finely milled components, and tight tolerances reflect a level of craftsmanship unmatched by wartime examples.

This example remains in very good condition with about 90% of its original blued finish, sharp mechanical function, and an immaculate bore. The inclusion of a period-correct holster and two magazines further adds to its desirability. The checkered plastic grips, marked internally with a Swiss inspector’s stamp, are clean and tight, underscoring the care this pistol has received throughout its life.

Swiss 1906/29 Lugers hold special appeal for both Luger enthusiasts and military collectors due to their precision build and relative scarcity in the U.S. market. Whether you’re seeking a premium example for a growing collection or simply want to own one of the best-built Lugers ever manufactured, this pistol will not disappoint.
