Action Type: Top Lever, Break Action Over/Under Shotgun with Ejectors and mechanical single selective trigger. The safety does not automatically re-set.
Barrel Length: 26” Vent ribbed barrel. This shotgun has been ported. The porting is in my humble opinion very nicely done.
Choke: This shotgun is threaded for Ruger interchangeable chokes. The longer pattern for 411 and 412 prefixes not the typical shorter chokes of the 410 series. Currently installed Skeet over Modified.
Sights/Optics: There is a brass bead fixed to the front of the barrel rib. The top of the rib is serrated to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration and Condition: The furniture set is a two-piece wood with checkered capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and Decelerator rubber butt pad. The forend is a checkered thin slab sided forend. The LOP measures 14” from the front of the trigger to the back of the butt pad. The drop at comb is 1.5” and the drop at heel is 2.5”. The shotgun weighs 7lbs 6OZ. The wood shows scattered lines and compressions. The forend is missing a chip on the right hand side just back from the nose. The stock feels slightly loose and will need the through bolt tightened. The stock has two small chips in the checkering on the left hand side. The butt pad shows some drying and cracking in the rubber however it is still soft and pliable. There are no visible cracks in the wood. Overall the furniture set is in Good-Good+ condition.

Bore Condition: Both bores are very bright and there is no erosion. The barrels show minor lines and some plastic fouling in the forcing cones. The porting is very clean. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9.25/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. Both sides of the top barrel show some minor scattered marks. The muzzles show thinning finish. The bottom barrel shows rub wear from the forend that is concealed when assembled. The stainless shows surface level lines common with this type of finish. As mentioned before the stock is slightly loose. The action has been modified to have a safety that does not automatically re-set. The rib is slightly loose at the front section and rattles a little bit if you tap on the rib. The markings are clear. There is a small marr on the left side of the rib about mid length on the first section. Overall the shotgun is in Good+ condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lock up is tight with no play. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This shotgun includes the two chokes.
Our Assessment: This 1993 Ruger Red Label 12 gauge offers the classic American-made over/under design Ruger became known for, featuring 3″ chambers and a set of 26″ barrels that have been professionally ported aftermarket for reduced muzzle rise and quicker target transitions. The barrels are threaded for interchangeable chokes and currently set up with a Skeet choke over a Modified choke, giving the shotgun a versatile pattern setup suitable for clays or upland use. The compact 26″ configuration keeps the gun fast and responsive, while the porting adds a modern performance touch.
