Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with a few minor scratches and scuffs scattered throughout the metal surfaces. There is some corrosion on the back of the bolt, bolt release lever, and on the front of the trigger guard. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Ruger M77 Mark II All-Weather in 7.62×39 is a solid, purpose-built bolt action that pairs Ruger durability with a practical, low-maintenance synthetic stock. The 7.62×39 cartridge originated in the Soviet Union during World War II and was adopted for the SKS and AK family; it is renowned for reliable feeding, moderate recoil and effective performance in close to moderate-range hunting and utility roles. This 1991 example presents well and retains approximately 95% of its original stainless finish. The synthetic Zytel stock with wood grip inserts rates Very Good and fits the barreled action tightly with only light handling marks and expected polymer fading. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and rates 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. There is some corrosion present on the back of the bolt, the bolt release lever, and the front of the trigger guard; these areas should be addressed with a professional cleaning and inspection prior to live fire. The action and safety functioned during our check, and the rifle is ready to accept Ruger-style scope rings for optics as indicated. Overall, this rifle rates in Good condition and will serve well as a compact brush or utility hunting platform once the noted surface corrosion is professionally serviced.
