Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with “OESTERR. WAFFENFABR.- GES. STEYR”. The top of the receiver is marked “Patent / Mannlicher / Schoenauer / M1908”. The right side of the barrel shank is marked with the serial number. The left side of the barrel shank is marked “NPv (Vienna smokeless proof mark)” and an “Austrian Coat of Arms” stamping. The top of the barrel is marked, “VON LENGRKE & DETMOLD INC, NEW YORK”. The underside of the bolt handle is marked, “9553”.
Barrel Length: Approximately 19 ¾ Inches
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass blade set atop a ramped base. The rear sight is a two leaf “U” notched assembly marked “300”. The “300” marking can only be seen when the rear leaf is flipped down.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The hardwood stock has a capped semi-pistol grip, straight comb with a cheek piece, hand checkering on the forearm & grip, two sling loops, nose cap, and a serrated metal buttplate with hinged door for storage. The checkering is has worn peaks, showing moderate signs of handling. There are scratches, pressure dents, and some various small chips throughout. The LOP measures 14 1/8 inches from the face of the front trigger and 13 1/4 inches from the face of the rear set trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Good overall condition. The stock has been refinished.

Bore Condition: The bore is gray and the rifling is pronounced. There is moderate erosion and light spots of pitting throughout. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8.5/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 92% of its metal finish. There is minor thinning throughout with much of it concentrated on the bolt handle. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
