Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “Steyr-Daimler-Puch A.G. Steyr.” The barrel is marked “.243 Win.” Additional Austrian proof marks are present near the chamber and bolt handle. The Kahles scope is marked “K KAHLES WIEN.”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to a ramp. The rear sight is a fixed U-notch on a raised block. The top of the receiver is mounted with a K. Kahles Wien scope. The scope is a fixed power Austrian optic with a fine reticle and excellent glass clarity. The scope is in Very Good condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a checkered Monte Carlo-style walnut stock and a black plastic buttplate. The LOP measures 13.75″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There are some light handling marks and minor surface scratches, but no chips or cracks are observed. The checkering is sharp and well-preserved. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is dark, the rifling is defined. There is moderate visible erosion in the. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 6/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light operational handling wear with minor edge thinning on the bolt knob, mag well, and trigger guard. There are some small scattered nicks and faint scratches on the barrel and receiver. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
