Our Assessment: This Advantage Arms Inc. Model #1 is a rare and unusual quad-barrel derringer chambered in .22 WMR, offering four shots in a compact break-action design. Manufactured in the 1990s in Tucson, Arizona, the pistol operates with a rotating striker mechanism that indexes a fresh barrel with each pull of the trigger, much like its 19th-century Remington-Elliot predecessor. While relatively obscure in the firearms market, this derringer was designed for collectors and enthusiasts interested in unique personal defense or novelty arms. This example is in very good condition overall, retaining about 98% of its original stainless finish. The only visible wear consists of faint handling marks and minor tooling on a few screw heads. The bores are bright with strong rifling and only light fouling, rating 9/10. The walnut grips are smooth and nicely fit, showing only light marks with no chips or cracks. Mechanically, the action functions as intended and locks up properly, offering four shots in a remarkably compact and simple package.

For collectors of oddball, novelty, or multi-barrel firearms, this Advantage Arms quad derringer presents a rare opportunity. With its solid construction, functional design, and classic Western-inspired styling, it’s a modern interpretation of a historic concept. Whether for display, curiosity, or a unique addition to a rimfire collection, this pistol blends practical function with niche collector appeal. -R.E.
