Trigger Group: “D28290-12-SA”- A Springfield part (page 90 of Joe Poyer’s M1 GARAND 1936 to 1957, 6th Edition).
Hammer: “C46008-5 SA”– A Springfield part (page 98).
Safety: unmarked – An aftermarket part.
Follower: Unmarked – Used by all 4 manufacturers (page 83).
Receiver Leg: “B 31 B”, and “D 6528291 43” – Used for a different block of Springfield serial numbers. This is a re-welded receiver (page 29).
Op Rod: “D35382 6 SA” – A Springfield part (page 71).
Barrel: unmarked with a 2 grooved bore– This is a Model 1903 barrel mated to the rear of an M1 Garand barrel.
Bolt: “D28287-19SA / A-8” – A Springfield part (page 53).
The stock and sights are described below.
Barrel Length: Approximately 16 ½ Inches. 20 ¾ inches to the face of the flash suppressor.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade set between two protective wings. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight set between two protective wings. The windage knob is marked “LEFT arrow” twice. The elevation knob is marked from “2-12” in increments of 2 as well as “UP ARROW DOWN ARROW” and “BATTLE triangle RANGE”.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The top of the stock is marked “7.62 M.M. / NATO” next to the receiver and at the rear of the handguard.
The goss finished wood stock has been cut down. It has a pistol grip, metal nose caps, two sling loops and a metal buttplate with hinged door for storage in the butt. The refinsihed buttplate has scratches and pin prick surface erosion showing through the finish. It also shows light scrapes & discoloration. The top of the grip shows a surface repair at the receiver. The finish shows scuffs, scrapes & light scratches. A few of the marks have damaged small parts of the surface wood. Most of these marks have been finished over. The LOP measures 13 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine Overall condition as refinished.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and rifling is deep. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish as refinished. The receiver has surface erosion showing through the new finish. The metal shows scuffs & light scrapes. The right side of the receiver shows some thinning consistent with cycling. The markings are well defined. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition as Restored.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
