Model: M1 Garand. This M1 Garand appears to have been rebuilt by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). We do not have a CMP Certificate or paperwork to confirm this.

The stock and sights are described below.

Barrel Length: Approximately 24 Inches

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade set between two protective wings. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight set between two protective wings. The windage knob is marked “LEFT arrow” twice and “SA”. The elevation knob is marked from “2 4 6 8 10 11” on the edge.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The left side of the new production stock is marked with “boxed” a CMP cartouche containing “CMP / eagle holding arrows”. It is partially struck.
The hardwood stock has a pistol grip, metal nose caps, a stacking loop, two sling loops and a metal buttplate with hinged door for storage in the butt. The refinished buttplate shows scrapes and thinning around the edges. The wood shows a few light handling marks. The LOP measures 13 ? inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.

Type of Finish: Parkerized

Finish Originality: Original to CMP Rebuild

Bore Condition: The muzzle and grooves are grey. The rifling is deep; less pronounced at the muzzle. There is erosion at the muzzle and in the grooves. The bore has an M.E. of 3.3. The throat has a T.E. of 4.5.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. The metal shows scuffs & light scrapes. The receiver legs show a few small scrapes below the wood. The barrel & gas tube show a few scrapes. The bolt has dried grease residue on it. The markings are deep. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus to Fine condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
The bayonet mounts the rifle with a small amount of back & forth play.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: The rifle comes with an M1 bayonet. The metal shows scrapes, discoloration from oxidation, and light surface erosion. The plastic grip shows several scrapes & scratches. Overall it is in about Good condition. The rifle has a green canvas sling attached. It shows discoloration & soiling on the canvas as well as surface erosion & scratches on the metal.
