Markings: Rear top of the receiver is marked “US RIFLE M1A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 115661”. The top of the barrel is marked, “NM.308-SS”. The top of the bolt carrier group is marked “7790186-TRW 2H”. The right side of the barrel is marked “SPRINGFIELD INC GENESEO IL”.
Barrel Length: 22”, 25” with the classic flash hider.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a National Match front sight. The Rear Sight is a Match-Grade Aperture Sight with .0520 aperture, ½ MOA windage and elevation increments. The sights function correctly. Mounted via a Spring field scope mount is a Leupold VX-III 4.5-14X40mm scope with magnetic scope caps, Varmint Hunters Reticle and ¼ MOA covered turrets. The scope is in Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is the traditional M14 Walnut stock with two sling swivels, semi pistol grip, straight comb, a 13.25 LOP, butt storage compartment and the hinged metal buttplate. The top handguard is brown composite. The stock has a velcro strap on style cheek riser. The upper handguard shows only minor storage and handling wear with a few small surface level lines and some discoloration from oil. The stock shows scattered minor marks, lines, and compressions with some discoloration from use. There is a small chip missing from the right side of the stock just in front of the receiver. There are no visible cracks. The inside of the hinged portion of the buttplate shows discoloration and rust from some sort of sticky substance. It is this writer’s opinion that this should be able to be removed with a proper cleaning. The rest of the buttplate is in Very Good condition showing only minor handling. Overall the stock is in about Good+ to Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. The muzzle device shows only minor carbon fouling. The feed ramps are smooth and shiny. There is some minor fouling present in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.25/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is some finish loss from the friction surfaces of the bolt and receiver. There are some very minor surface marks from handling / use. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall this rifle is in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
