There is a slight imprint of the cylinder is the velvet covering the storage section of the lid. The case is 16×10.5×3.125” and the bottom is covered with brown felt. The center section of the lid shows three dings with finish loss , a few light drag lines and several tiny dull spots that make it look like something with a knurled finish was rested against the lid. There are also several tiny dings in the borders of the lid. The case is in overall Fine condition. There is a brass latch on the front of the case, with one key for its lock, and an unused Master cable lock in the storage section of the lid.
Our Assessment:This is a Smith & Wesson Model 3 Schofield Single Action Revolver in .45 Schofield. It is a 6-shot top break revolver with a 7” barrel, and a polished blue finish with a case colored hammer, trigger, trigger guard and barrel latch. The grips are fancy burl walnut, complete with cartouche. The revolver was made as a limited-edition modern reproduction of the original Schofield by the S&W Performance Center, incorporating the modern technical and engineering advances of the last 125 years. This is a beautiful revolver that comes with an oak presentation case that is marked with the S&W Performance Center logo. The revolver shows no handling marks except for a light drag line in the cylinder. This revolver would make a great addition to any S&W or top break revolver collection. There were only a few thousand of these made, so it is only going to increase in value as time goes on.
