Markings:  The left side of the barrel is marked “.17 HORNADY MAGNUM”.  The left side of the frame is marked with a Smith & Wesson Monogram. The right side of the frame has a 4-Line Marcas Registradas. The right side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The bottom of the grip is marked “HOGUE / MONOGRIP”.  The sides of the grip each have Smith & Wesson Monograms molded at their tops.

 Barrel Length: 8 3/8″

Sights / Optics:  The front sight is a partridge blade pinned to the serrated barrel rib. The rear sight is an adjustable square notch screwed to the top strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is one one piece Hogue Monogrip with finger grooves, cobblestone texturing, and Smith & Wesson logos molded to tops of each side.  The texture is crisp with minimal handling wear. The grip rates in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates at a 10/10.

Overall Condition:  The balance of the finish shows little to no operational wear. There is no visible turn line.  The markings are clear. There are some micro scuffs in the polished surfaces. Overall, this revolver rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions as intended. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. The lockup and timing are strong. There is little play with the cylinder upon lockup.
