Action Type: DA/SA, 6 Shot, Swing Out, Non-Fluted Cylinder, with Ejector. 

Markings:  The left of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right is marked “44 MAGNUM”. The side plate is marked with the S&W monogram logo and the right of the frame is marked with the four-line marcas registradas address. The crane-cut is marked with the serial “CBL6825” and “MOD-629-4” . The crane and sides of the grip frame have inspection marks.

Barrel Length: 3″ pinned

Sights / Optics:  The front sight is a serrated blade with red insert, dovetailed to a solid rib. The rear sight is a white outlined rectangular notch sight with micro-adjustment, screwed to the top-strap.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The stocks are one-piece rubber grips with stippled surface and finger grooves. The grips are in Excellent condition, with virtually no scratches or handling marks.  There are no chips or cracks.

Type of Finish:  Stainless Steel, case hardened hammer & trigger

Finish Originality:  Original

Bore Condition:  The bore is bright with well-defined rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10. 

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its finish.  The balance of the finish shows light operational wear and minor handling marks.  There are no carbon rings on the face of the cylinder.  The visible turn line is thin and crisp on the cylinder.  The screw heads are sharp.  The markings are clear.  Overall, this handgun rates an Fine condition.

Mechanics:  The action functions as designed.  The cylinder has strong lock up on all 6 chambers. The double action trigger is smooth. The single action trigger is crisp.  We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Markings remain clear, screw heads are sharp, and the bore is exceptionally bright with crisp rifling, supporting its Fine overall condition.
