Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “500 S&W MAGNUM”, The Yoke is marked “509” Yoke Crane is marked CHH4149 / MOD500”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Partridge blade integral to the front of the barrel, the rear sight has been replaced with a BURRIS 2X-7X HANDGUN Scope with duplex reticle. This scope’s optics are clean and there are minor handling marks in the body. Overall, the scope is in Fine-plus condition. The top of the barrel is matte finished with a line of fine serrations for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a one-piece S&W monogram pebble-textured Hogue Monogrip with finger grooves. The grip has no notable wear or damage, only light handling marks. There are no rips or tears. Overall, the grips are in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the ElectroChemical Machined rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. There are very few scattered light scuffs and handling marks. There are a few little scratches on the trigger guard. The cylinder has a complete turn-line. The hammer and trigger have light operational wear. The screw heads are sharp to lightly worn. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup produces almost no side-to-side play on each chamber with the trigger depressed. The double-action trigger is smooth. The single-action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: From its introduction in 2003, to this very day, the Smith & Wesson model 500 has been considered one of the finest and most powerful pistols made commercially. The installed 2-7x32mm scope provides handgun shooters with a wide, flexible range. 2x low end magnification offers quick target acquisition and a very large field-of-view. The 7x zoom at the top provides accuracy at handgun-stretching distances. This example shows hardly any wear and has a great bore and a nice trigger.
