Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is strong. There is no erosion in the bore. In my opinion, this bore is a 10 out of 10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 100% of its metal finish. There are no scuffs or draglines typical of stainless guns. There is no turn line on the cylinder. No burn marks on the cylinder face. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lockup produces minimal side-to-side movement. The double-action is smooth and the single action is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Black plastic carry case. The signed letter from the famed Smith and  Wesson Historian Roy Jinks. The letter states the authenticity of the engraving.

Our Assessment: The Model 66 is, essentially, a stainless steel version of the model 19. This example, with its 2 inch barrel and adjustable rear sights, gives the Model 66’s balance precision and power while being carry friendly and also makes it more corrosion resistant and appealing to those who prefer the look of stainless steel.

The K-Frame revolver is one of the most important innovations in Smith & Wesson history, firearms history for that matter, and was built specifically to handle the .38 S&W Special cartridge. Since its introduction in 1899, the K-Frame has been a favorite for military and police professionals as well as target shooters and enthusiasts. Today’s K-Frame is available in .22 LR, .22 WMR, .357 Magnum and .38 S&W Special.

Millions have been produced and they are known to take a lickin’ and keep on tickin’. Perhaps the “K” stands for King, because in terms of revolvers that is what the K-Frame is…royalty.

No matter the case, this is a beautifully crafted unfired, un-carried, work of art, revolver that was hand engraved at the factory in 1974 with level “A” engraving, target hammer, target trigger, red ramp front sight, and is a classic model from one of the best-known names in firearms; with a hand typed and hand signed factory letter to prove it. It will enhance any collection lucky enough to absorb it.  So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition in our high quality photos. Good luck on your bid. -K.F.
