Our Assessment: The Model 627 was originally introduced by Smith & Wesson in 1989 as a special edition stainless version of the model 27, with a 6-shot cylinder. Production would later continue as an 8-shot Performance Center revolver. This example is one such Performance Center 627-5, a black and stainless steel 8-shot revolver with the chambers recessed for use with moon clips and a compensator attached to the barrel. This makes for a great defensive or competition revolver, with higher capacity than some semi-automatics and similar reloading speeds with moon clips. It is in Fine Plus condition with evidence of light use but also responsible care and maintenance. The gun will be a sweet shooter and would make a great revolver to add to any collection. Please see our pictures and good luck.
