Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “Fresno P.D.” along with the Smith & Wesson monogram. The left side of the slide is marked “Smith & Wesson” followed by the Marcas Registradas. The left side of the frame is marked “TAK4524 / MODEL 645.”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade with a red ramp insert. The rear sight is a square-notch sight, drift-adjustable for windage, with white lines.

Grip Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece black checkered polymer panels showing light handling scratches and general wear consistent with police duty carry. There are no significant chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Very Good overall condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: One original Smith & Wesson magazine holding 8 rounds of .45 ACP, in Very Good condition with light operational wear.

Type of Finish: Stainless Steel Slide and Frame

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright with clearly defined rifling. There is light fouling present throughout. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This pistol retains approximately 92% of its original stainless finish. The metal surfaces exhibit mild wear typical of a duty pistol, including scattered handling marks, superficial scratches, and slight operational wear at contact points. The frame and slide markings are sharp and clearly legible. Screw heads remain sharp, and pins are unmarred. Overall, this pistol rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly, and the pistol features an ambidextrous decocker/safety. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
