Our Assessment:
The Smith & Wesson Model 57 was introduced in 1964 alongside the .41 Magnum cartridge, intended as a powerful revolver round that could bridge the gap between the .357 Magnum and the .44 Magnum. Built on the large N-frame, the Model 57 offered the same fit, finish, and target-grade accuracy as the iconic Model 29, but in a cartridge that was meant to appeal to both law enforcement and sportsmen. While the .41 Magnum never quite gained the same mainstream popularity as its counterparts, it has always held a strong following among enthusiasts who value its flatter trajectory and reduced recoil compared to the .44.

This example, with its 6” barrel, presentation case, and wide target hammer and trigger, represents the revolver at its finest. The deep factory blue finish, vibrant case colors, and high-quality Goncalo Alves stocks make it every bit the premium revolver that collectors seek today. Its bright, perfect bore further enhances its desirability, as does the completeness of its original case, tools, and paperwork.

For the collector, this is an excellent opportunity to acquire a high-condition, complete set Model 57 from the late 1970s, when Smith & Wesson craftsmanship was at its peak. For the shooter, the .41 Magnum offers a rewarding and versatile cartridge in an N-frame platform that was built to last generations. Whether kept cased as a collector’s treasure or taken to the range to enjoy its superb accuracy, this revolver will not disappoint. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to look at the item’s condition in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid.
