Our Assessment: The Smith & Wesson Model 57 was introduced in 1964 as the premium .41 Magnum revolver in the S&W lineup, offering magnum power in a finely tuned target-grade package. The 57-3 variant, manufactured in the early 1990s, carries forward the legacy with traditional craftsmanship and refinements like the pinned front sight, target hammer, and Goncalo Alves target stocks.
This example, made in 1991, is in beautiful shape with strong bluing, sharp mechanics, and all the visual appeal collectors and magnum revolver enthusiasts appreciate. The .41 Magnum cartridge was designed to bridge the gap between the .357 and .44 Magnums, offering flatter trajectory and more manageable recoil—a caliber that remains beloved among experienced wheelgun shooters.
Whether you’re a collector of Smith & Wesson revolvers, a magnum aficionado, or someone looking for a capable and elegant shooter, this 57-3 will make a proud addition to your collection or range bag. Please see our high quality photos and good luck on your bid -M.C.
