Action Type: Double and Single Action Revolver with Swing-Out Cylinder

Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON,” and the right side is marked “.44 MAGNUM.” The right side of the frame displays the S&W trademark monogram. The serial number “N436887” is marked on the butt and inside the crane recess.

Barrel Length: 8 3/8″ Pinned

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a red ramp blade. The rear sight is a square-notch micrometer click adjustable for windage and elevation.

Grip Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece Goncalo Alves checkered target grips featuring the desirable speed-loader (“football”) cut. They display beautifully figured grain and sharp checkering, showing minimal handling marks. The grips rate in Excellent overall condition.

Type of Finish: Blued Finish with Case-Colored Wide Target Hammer and Wide Target Trigger

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion or fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This revolver retains approximately 98% of its original blued finish. There are only very minor handling marks and minimal wear evident. A very faint cylinder turn line is present, which does not penetrate the finish. The case coloring on the wide target hammer and trigger remains vivid and attractive. Screw heads are sharp, and pins remain unmarred. All markings are crisp and clearly legible. Overall, this revolver rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions perfectly in both single and double action modes, featuring a smooth, crisp trigger pull and tight cylinder lock-up. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
