Our Assessment: The Smith & Wesson Model 27-2 is one of the finest revolvers ever made by S&W, and this 3.5” barrel configuration is especially desirable among collectors and shooters alike. Introduced as the original .357 Magnum, the Model 27 features the massive N-frame, checkered topstrap, and an impeccable fit and finish that exemplified S&W’s craftsmanship in the 1970s.
This example, manufactured in 1973, qualifies as a Curio & Relic and is a rare configuration that bridges the gap between duty carry and collector appeal. The 3.5” barrel is considered one of the ideal lengths for balance and practical accuracy, while still preserving the power of the .357 Magnum cartridge.
Whether you’re an S&W enthusiast, a collector of early magnum revolvers, or simply want one of the smoothest shooting DA/SA revolvers ever made, this 27-2 is a rock-solid choice with high potential value. Please see our high quality photos and good luck on your bid -M.C.
