Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON.” The right side is marked “.22 LONG RIFLE CTG.” The right side of the frame is marked with the S&W trademark and “MADE IN U.S.A.” The serial number “K337624” is stamped on the butt. The model marking “MOD. 17” is stamped inside the yoke cut.
Finish Originality: Original
Finish Condition: The blued finish is in excellent condition with only light handling wear and a visible turn line on the cylinder.
Grips: Checkered walnut grips with S&W medallions, in excellent condition with sharp checkering and no chips or cracks.
Features: Factory serrated trigger and wide knurled target hammer.
Bore Condition: The bore is semi-bright with sharp rifling. There is minor fouling but no pitting. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Mechanics: The action functions properly in both single and double action. Cylinder lock-up is solid and timing is correct. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Accessories: Includes original factory box and cleaning kit.
