Our Assessment:
The Smith & Wesson Model 396 Mountain Lite is one of the lightest large-bore revolvers ever produced, thanks to its scandium alloy frame and titanium cylinder. Designed for backpackers and hikers who need a powerful yet lightweight defensive option, it combines .44 Special stopping power with Performance Center precision.
Its 3″ barrel offers a practical balance of sight radius and carry comfort, while the fiber optic front sight and adjustable rear make it suitable for fast target acquisition. This revolver was built with minimalist backcountry carry in mind, and its sleek profile and light recoil make it appealing even for those who are recoil-sensitive.
Collectors and outdoor enthusiasts alike will find this revolver appealing, as it’s no longer in current production and was manufactured in limited numbers. This is an ideal revolver for someone looking to balance power, portability, and performance in a trusted revolver platform. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition of the item in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid. -K.F.
