Markings: The receiver is marked “SKB SINCE 1855”, “NS76312”, “HUNTING”, and “505”. The 12 gauge set is marked “MODEL 505 12GA 3″ CHAMBER PROOF TESTED MADE BY NEW SKB ARMS COMPANY JAPAN”, “SILE, N.Y.” and the serial number with proofs. The 20 gauge set is marked “MODEL 505 20GA 3″ CHAMBER PROOF TESTED MADE BY NEW SKB ARMS COMPANY JAPAN”, “SILE, N.Y.” and the serial number with proofs. Both forends are marked with the serial number.
Barrel Length: 12 Gauge 28″, 20 Gauge 26″. These measurements are rounded down slightly to compensate for the MM to Inches conversion.
Choke: The 12 Gauge set is threaded for Win choke pattern chokes currency installed is Skeet Over Improved Cylinder. Also includes 2 x Modified, 3 x FULL, Improved Modified, and Extra Full. 9 total 12 gauge chokes.
The 20 Gauge set is threaded for SKB pattern chokes and includes the following Briley chokes 2 x SKEET, 2 x Modified, 2 x Improved Cylinder, and 2 x FULL. 8 chokes total.
Sights / Optics: Both Barrel sets have brass bead front sights and checkered ribs.
Weight: With the 20 Gauge barrel set 7lbs 12oz. With the 12 gauge barrel set 7lbs 8oz.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set with this shotgun includes two round profile, finger shelf, checkered walnut forends. The stock is a checkered walnut capped semi-pistol grip stock with fluted straight comb and vented rubber butt pad. The LOP is 14″. The drop at comb is 1.25″ and the drop at heel is 1.75″. The stock has a slight right handed cast. The 20GA forend shows some minor surface level lines and some crazing in the gloss finish. The 12 gauge forend shows very similar wear to the 20 gauge set. The stock shows some very minor crazing and some very minor scattered lines and rub marks. The butt pad is pliable. There are no chips or cracks. There is a notable compression on the lower left side of the belly of the stock. Overall the furniture set is in Very Good+-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The 12GA smooth bores are mirror bright and there is no erosion present. There are some barely visible lines from use and almost no plastic fouling in the forcing cones. In this writer’s opinion the bores rate 9.75/10.

Overall Condition: The receiver retains 98% of its finish. The finish shows some very fine surface level lines. The trigger guard shows some scratches, and rub wear by the tang screw. The lower lip of the receiver has some scratches. The 12 gauge barrel set retains about 90% of its metal finish showing minor scattered marks and pitting in the finish with some rust freckling on both sides of the upper barrel. The edges of the ribs also have some very small rust spots. The 20 gauge barrel set retains 99% of its metal finish and shows minor handling and minor marks from use. The markings are clear, and the screw heads are sharp. Overall the shotgun set is in Very Good+ condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The lockup is tight. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun includes the above mentioned chokes, 3 x choke wrenches, two Briley choke cases, two desiccant containers, choke lube, paperwork, 2 x 20 gauge snap caps, 2 x 12 gauge snap caps, and Browning luggage style case.
