Our Assessment: A compact, pistol-format 7.62 platform built around the SIG716’s piston-driven, short-stroke gas system and chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO with a 12.5″ barrel.. The fitted Burris optic provides a fast, medium-power aiming solution well matched to the cartridge’s mid-range potential despite the shortened barrel.
