Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “SIG SAUER”. The right side of the slide is marked “P226 Elite”. The right side of the slide is marked with Sig’s address and the serial number. The chamber is marked “40 S&W / SIG”. The grips are marked “SIG SAUER”.
Barrel Length: 4 1/4″
Sights / Optics: The front sight is black blade with a tritium dot, dovetailed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch sight with tritium dots, dovetailed to the slide.
Stock/Grip Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two-piece textured laminate wood grip set. The grips show no notable wear. The texturing is well defined. The grips fit the frame tightly, with no play. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Excellent condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: 2x 13rd factory magazines, both rate in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10. This pistol comes with an extra barrel, chambered in .357 Sig. The .357 Sig barrel’s bore rates 10/10, for the same reasons.
Overall Condition: This pistol retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with minor surface corrosion starting to form on the top of the slide, and on the back of the slide, just to the right of the hammer. There is operational wear on the friction surfaces of the action/chamber. Otherwise, the finish is largely intact. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. Overall, this pistol rates in Fine to Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the decocker. We did not fire this pistol, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with its original serial number matching plastic hard case, owner’s manual/paperwork, chamber flag, and the extra .357 Sig barrel (4”), and magazines as mentioned above. There is a Streamlight TLR-8 weapon light mounted on the picatinny rail. The light does not function, more than likely due to a dead battery.
Our Assessment: Sig Sauer’s P226 Elite represents the high-end evolution of one of the most respected service pistols ever made. Built on the proven P226 platform, long favored by military, law-enforcement, and professional users. The Elite variant adds enhanced ergonomics, upgraded sights, and finely textured laminate wood grips. Combined with its stainless slide and frame, tritium night sights, and a smooth DA/SA trigger system with decocker, this 2015 example embodies the durability, precision, and shootability that define the P226 line.
Chambered in .40 S&W, the pistol delivers a strong balance of recoil control and terminal performance, a pairing well suited to the P226’s all-steel weight and engineering. This example also includes a 4″ .357 SIG barrel, allowing the owner to take advantage of the bottlenecked cartridge’s higher velocity and flatter trajectory. Both bores are exceptional, bright with sharp rifling and rated 10/10. The pistol retains approximately 98% of its original stainless finish, showing only light handling wear and minor surface corrosion beginning on the slide; cosmetic notes that do not affect function.
This P226 Elite comes with its original case, paperwork, two factory 13-round magazines, an additional .357 SIG barrel, and a Streamlight TLR-8 light (non-functional, likely needing a battery). Altogether, it is a well-kept, high-performance example of a flagship Sig Sauer service pistol—versatile, accurate, and built to a professional standard.
