Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “SIG SAUER P229”. The right side of the frame is marked “SIG SAUER INC. / NEWINGTON-NH-USA” and “55E054207”. The right side of the barrel at the port is marked “9mm x 19”, the left side is marked “SIG SAUER / 229-1” and “C”. The left side of the chamber is marked “SIG SAUER”, “C”, and “229-1”. The underside of the top of the slide is marked “0760 08 D21”. The top of the slide is marked with an arrow over “LEGION”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade with a tritium lamp that is dovetailed to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch with two tritium lamps that is dovetailed into the slide. The lamps hold a strong glow in low light environments.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered panels with Legion arrow medallions in the center. The panels meet to envelop the back strap. The front strap is checkered. The grips show no notable wear or damage. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. Only light handling wear is present. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall, this handgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in its original serial matching case with three 15-round magazines, paperwork including the manual, and a chamber flag. Please note, no magazines will be included where it cannot be legally transferred.
Our Assessment: The P229 is a compact variant of the larger P226, itself a double stack magazine variant of the P220. Because of its compact size, relatively lightweight and large magazine capacity, the P229 is a favorite for duty and concealed carry purposes. Stated on Sig’s website, “The Legion P229 is finished in a Cerakote® Elite Legion gray coating, custom G-10 grips with a Legion medallion, the new SIG SAUER Electro-Optics X-RAY high visibility day/night sights and will ship with three magazines. The P229 in DA/SA include a reduced and contoured Elite beavertail, which allows for a higher grip, but a reduced profile, thus eliminating printing. More aggressive front strap checkering and additional checkering under the trigger guard enhance the grip. An X-Five undercut has been applied to the trigger guard, allowing for a higher grip and greater control. Front cocking serrations provide greater purchase for cycling the action, clearing the firearm, or conducting press checks. The pistol is available in 9 mm and also features low profile decocking and slide catch levers to reduce the risk of snagging. An enhanced polished action with the SRT (Short-Reset Trigger) is augmented with a Grayguns, Inc. designed P-SAIT trigger. In addition, a solid steel guide rod adds weight where it matters most.” This pistol looks to have seen hardly any use, leaving it in Excellent condition.
