Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “SIG SAUER M11-A1”. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number “AKU 12333” and “SIG SAUER INC. / EXETER-NH-USA”. The top of the slide is marked with the Sig logo. The right side of the barrel visible through the ejection port is marked “9mm Para”. The left side of the barrel is marked “SIG SAUER / P229-1”. The left grip panel is marked “P228” and the right is marked “SIG SAUER”. The right side of the front and the rear sight is marked “AM” and “MH3”.

Sights/Optics: The front sight is a blade with a tritium lamp dovetailed into the slide. The rear sight is a square-notch with two tritium lamps that is dovetailed into the slide. The lamps hold a dim glow in low light levels.

Stock Configuration and Condition: The grips are two-piece textured black synthetic panels that wrap around the backstrap. The grips are not original to the gun. The front strap is serrated. The grips show no notable imperfections. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips rate in Excellent condition as not original to the gun.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and there is no erosion, there is some stubborn fouling in the grooves.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. Only faint handling marks are present. All screws are sharp, pins are unmarred, and all markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The single action is light and crisp, and the double action is smooth. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: This pistol comes in a plain black hard case with four 15-round magazines and one 10-round magazine. Please note, no magazines will be included where prohibited by law.

Our Assessment: Stated perfectly on Sig’s website, “Designed to meet, and exceed, rigorous military standards, the M11-A1 Compact performs like no other 9mm available. This pistol features the black hard-coat finish on its alloy frame and SIG’s Nitron finish over a stainless slide. Internal parts and controls are phosphated for extreme corrosion resistance and reduced friction while the barrel is finished in Nitron which easily passes the military’s accuracy requirements, even after 20,000 rounds.” The M11-A1 is essentially a stainless slide P228 mated to a P229 anodized alloy frame. The wider P229 frame bumps capacity to 15-rounds of 9mm parabellum. This pistol is very clean, in about Excellent condition and comes with the aforementioned hard case with a total of five magazines.
