The right side of the frame is marked “Holden” and the company’s logo, “P226”, “CIP / N”, three crowns on a shield, “CC” date code, the serial number, “MADE IN GERMANY”, and “SIG SAUER INC. / NEWINGTON-NH-USA”. The right side of the trigger guard is marked “DE”. The bottom of the dust cover is marked “TAI MINOT, ND”. The right side of the chamber is marked “P226 US100836 DE / 9mm Para” and “CIP / N”, the left side of the chamber is marked “SIG SAUER / DE20”, and the bottom is marked with a QR code. The grip panels are marked “SIG SAUER”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade dovetailed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is an LPA fully adjustable square notch with two white dots that is dovetailed to the slide.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece textured Sig Sauer panels that envelop the back strap and leave the checkered front strap exposed. The panels show hardly anything in the way of wear. There are no chips or cracks and the texturing is strong. The grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are just a couple of faint marks along the top of the slide. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition. (See Mechanics)
Mechanics: The action does not function properly. The hammer does not properly cock and the slide stop is misaligned. When there are rounds in the magazine, the slide stop still engages. The hammer does not stay cocked when the slide is released. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Sig Sauer X-Short is a semi-automatic pistol that commands attention with its compact design, all-steel construction, advanced features, and remarkable performance. At first glance, the Sig Sauer X-Short immediately stands out due to its diminutive size. Designed for concealed carry and close-quarters engagements, this pistol boasts a shortened slide and frame, making it exceptionally compact without sacrificing its effectiveness. Despite its smaller dimensions, the pistol feels surprisingly comfortable in hand, thanks in part to the textured grip that provides a secure hold. The single-action trigger offers a smooth and crisp break, enhancing accuracy during rapid-fire sequences. The short reset ensures minimal trigger travel, allowing for quicker follow-up shots, which is particularly important in self-defense scenarios. Unfortunately, the trigger has an issue not staying cocked, unless cocked manually. Once the mechanical issues are addressed, this pistol will make a fantastic shooter for years to come.
