Markings: The right side of the frame is marked “SWISS MADE” and “P 204264”. The right side of the barrel housing is marked “.32 S&W Long W.C.” and “P 204264”, the left side is marked “SIG HAMMERLI” and “P240”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a patridge style blade on a small serrated base that is dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a fully adjustable square notch leaf slotted in a base that is pinned to the rear of the barrel housing. The top of the barrel housing is serrated to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The target grip is three piece stippled wood that is formed for a right handed shooter with a thumb shelf on the left side, an index shelf on the right, and a palm swell. The front strap is serrated. There are no major imperfections, only light handling wear. The grip rates in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99%of its metal finish. There are a couple of scattered light marks and a bit of faint discoloration on the trigger guard. There are no major imperfections. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The trigger is light and crisp. There is a frame-mounted safety on the left side. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in an original red P240 box with a cleaning kit and a total of two magazines. The box is serial matched to the gun.
Our Assessment: Taken from Alek Wadi, “Swiss-made Swiss precision is a term that certainly applies to the SIG-Hammerli P240 pistol, the result of a fruitful collaboration between Swiss firearms manufacturers SIG (Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft) and Hammerli. The P240 target pistol is based on the SIG P210 concept and manufacturing. The P240 is a single-action, self-loading, short recoil-operated pistol with a tipping and mechanically locked barrel. The barrel-slide locking/slide stop lever is similar to the one from the P210, but with a difference. The P210 barrel locks into ribs above the chamber engaging the corresponding grooves inside the roof of the slide. On the P240, however, the barrel locking mechanism is a simple rectangular lock that catches and sits in the roof of the ejection port above the chamber. It is a straightforward and cheaper manufacturing solution that is now evident on many modern self-loading handguns.” This example is in about Excellent condition with a light and crisp trigger and a bright bore.
