Our Assessment: The Ruger M77 is a robust bolt-action rifle designed in 1968 by L. James Sullivan during his short three-years with Ruger. Intended to be a modernized Mauser 98, it featured simplified ejector updates and a newly designed safety system. This rifle is quite late-era, dates back to 2016, well-after all major M77 re-tools. This example is notable for being made in partnership with SAAM, the Sportsman’s All-Weather, All-Terrain Marksmanship school at Texas’ FTW Ranch. It was specifically designed as a precision all-weather multi purpose hunting rifle meant to perform in a wide range of high level and even brutal conditions. The matching Leupold stock rounds out the rifle nicely. In Fine-plus condition, this rifle is largely free of wear. We’ll say simply, do not hesitate to add this M77 to your collection. The bore is in good shape as is the included scope. Good luck and happy bidding!
