Serial Number: The serial number has a two-character cyrillic prefix corresponding to “KG” followed by 4808.

Markings: The right side of the barrel is import marked “C.A.I. ST. AI B., VT. / SKS 7.62 X 39 RUSSIA”. The left side of the stock and the top of the receiver cover are marked with the Tula Arsenal logo, and “1951”. The left side of the receiver, the bolt carrier, bolt, trigger guard, stock and the magazine cover are marked with the serial number. The receiver’s serial number has “KG” stamped above the cyrillic prefix. The serial number is also hand-scribed on the bottom of the gas tube. There are various proof marks and factory stamps on the rifle.
Barrel Length: Approximately 20 ½”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable, hooded post. The rear sight is a “U” notched sliding escalator marked from “1-10” and “-n-” at the base.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is wood with a pistol grip, through bolt, sling swivel loop, cutout for the folding bayonet, ventilated handguard, and a sheet steel buttplate with a cleaning kit trapdoor. There is a metal tube with cleaning gear stored in the buttstock. The stocks show scattered nicks, scuffs and scratches, most notable are a ding on top of the handguard, and a series of blue scuffs on the right side of the handguard. There is a small area with maring at the toe of the stock. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 12 1/2” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has scattered light wear and some minor thinning along the edges. Overall, the stock rates in about Very Good Plus condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are scattered minor nicks and scuffs. There are infrequent small spots of minor surface oxidation, most notable on the bright-finished bolt carrier. The action shows light operational wear. The screws are sharp. The original markings are clear, the import mark is poorly struck. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a green fabric sling and a cleaning kit stored in the buttstock. The kit shows minor handling wear and rates in about Fine condition. The sling has light user-wear and a few spots of minor fraying and oxidation on the metal parts, in about Good-Very Good condition.
